Saranac Lake: Things we need to do

This is NOT a resolution list. Serious, life changing decisions don't come at year end but it's a good time for task lists.

  1. Buy our shares in the community store
  2. Get serious about our compost pile
  3. Clean out the shed
  4. Research Saranac Lake schools
  5. Complete 5 low cost, low energy house projects before summer
  6. Get more involved in Saranac Lake

Saranac Lake schools are very good. When we moved back here from Wisconsin my daughter could not read well. In Petrova elementary school she was diagnosed with a reading disability and was up to grade level in reading in six months. She hasn't put a book down since. The high school is highly regarded in art and music. They also have awesome computer technology programs. The best thing about our schools is that the students are extremely versatile. Another example with my daughter. She was late for musical play practice because she got home late from participating in a sports event. You will find most academic honor students participating in sports, music, and arts. Currently there is a good mix of experienced and newer teachers in the district.
